"Iron speaks of wind, wood of song, alabaster of light, but all of them say the same thing: space. Rumour of limits, rude song: the wind, ancient name of the spirit, blows and twists tirelessly in the house of space." Octavio Paz
Many words have been written about Eduardo Chillida and his work of over half a century. Among the long list of publications, readers will find monographs, theses, exhibition catalogues, and articles from a variety of periodicals. Poets, philosophers, critics and art historians have written about his work, including such marvellous texts as Los espacios de Chillida by Gabriel Celaya and El Cosmos del Hierro by the French philosopher Gaston Bachelard. Both are clear examples of the poetry that flows out from the sculptor's work.
