Oregon will give a concert at Chillida-Leku as part of the 41st Heineken Jazz Festival
[Translate to English:]

Oregon, one of the most interesting contemporary jazz groups, will give an outdoor concert at Chillida-Leku on 25th July at 12.30 p.m. (midday) as part of the programme of the 41st Heineken Jazz Festival, or Jazzaldia in Basque.

Those wishing to attend the concert will have to pay the entrance fee to the Chillida-Leku Museum (€8), giving them the right to a complete visit of its installations. The concert is included in the price of the visit. Tickets should be bought at the entrance to Chillida-Leku on the same day as the concert.

The Jazz Festival and Chillida-Leku therefore continue their collaboration initiated last year, a great success featuring a Kenny Barron Trio highly acclaimed by both public and critic at what turned out to be one of the most endearing Festival events.
Oregon plays a kind of jazz influenced by widely varying traditions harmonically combining the strong artistic personalities of the band members, all real icons of contemporary jazz. Ralph Towner, Paul McCancless and Glen Moore founded Oregon in the early 70s together with Collin Walcott, who died in a car accident in 1984. They had all belonged to the community of young musicians who created the big fusion groups (Weather Report, Mahavishnu), widening their musical horizons with the Paul Winter Consort, so that they already had a great deal of artistic experience on launching the ensemble. The tremendous void left by Walcott was covered for a few years by Trilok Gurto, efficiently followed since 1996 by Mark Walker.
