Biography:
Born in Luxembourg and now living in Barcelona, since he gave his first recital at the age of 13, he has taken part in many festivals and he has performed all over Europe, Malaysia, Thailand, Canada, Lebanon, Japan and the USA, where he made his debut (Ann Arbor, Michigan) in 2000, with the Russian National Orchestra, conducted by M. Pletnev. He has also been conducted by G. Octors, J. Fürst, I. Dense, E. Krivine and J. Sachs.

After winning first prize for piano at conservatories in Luxembourg, Brussels and Paris, he obtained the Bachelor of music diploma (2002) and the Master of music diploma at the Juilliard School in New York; (2003). His piano teachers include B. Rauchs, J. C. Vanden Eynden, E. Naoumoff, M. Pletnev, J. Lowental, J. Lateiner, B. Brubaker, D. Dubal, R. Tureck and M. Solal. He has also won the International 20th-century piano Competition in Orléans (2004), the Grand prix Blanche Selva, and the Samson François, Ivan Spassov & Maurice Ohana prizes. More recently, by unanimous decision, he won the Primer Palau prize 2006.

His musical maturity enables him to effortlessly combine improvisation, conducting, composition and interpretations of jazz and classical music, ranging from mythical pieces such as the Goldberg Variations, that he recorded for CD Accord, to contemporary music. His latest recordings include Berio’s complete piano works, for Sisyphe; the Concerto for piano and orchestra by Ravel; and the Concerto number 5 for piano and orchestra by Prokófiev, with the Russian National Orchestra and M. Pletnev, for Pentatone Classics, for which he was awarded a Choc in Le Monde de la Musique and an Editor’s Choice in Gramophone magazine.
