Under the sky, above the earth · in CH-LK
[Translate to English:]

Under the sky, above the earth is the title of the temporary exhibition which will be shown in the room number 4 of Zabalaga.  The centre of the exhibition is the relation between Eduardo Chilida’s work and nature and its elements. That is why the exhibition is divided into four elements, water, air, fire and earth. The title relates to a text by Chillida that locates his homeland, the Basque Country, under the sky, above the earth (Zerupean Lurgainean). Nowadays the artist himself is in that place, in the present without dimension. Thanks to the exhibition, the artist is in harmony with the earth and the sky; and relates him with his closest and most universal world, nature.
Small works of art, sculptures, drawings and gravitations, photographs form the exhibition.

Water is represented by the project of the work named Elogio del Agua (In praise of water), which is situated in Creueta del Coll park in Barcelona. The sculpture is hanging above water in a former quarry. Air is represented by Lo profundo es el Aire XIX (Depth is air), an alabaster sculpture that reminds us of the words of the poet Jorge Guillén, which inspired the sculptor. Fire refers to the beginning of the artist’s career in the forge. This is the element that gives form to iron, and he used it again to make Lurrak (Earths). Through Lurrak, earth is represented in its purest and most primitive condition.
