The “Materializaciones2” exhibition is the second of the three exhibitions programmed for this year with the theme of materials, and keeps the same presentation as the sections in the first one: paper, stone, wood, earth, plaster, iron, and concrete; however, on this occasion the exhibition has been further improved by showing works that represent each of the materials.
A series of works of various sizes and materials as well as photographs of some of his most emblematic public works will be on display at the exhibition. The “Meeting place” project from 1972, produced in plaster, will form part of the exhibition. This is the piece that Chillida later based the work “Meeting place III” on, among others. It was installed in Madrid and is popularly known as “the beached mermaid”. We will also be displaying a relief in alabaster from 1969 that has never been shown before up to now at the museum.
