Chillida: Codis – Reus Museum (Catalonia) • outside · outside
[Translate to English:]

Opening of the travelling exhibition Chillida: Codis at Reus Museum (Catalonia). This, the biggest travelling exhibition (41 engravings) organised to date in Spain, will travel to the main Catalonian municipalities, starting with Reus and continuing in Mataró, Tortosa, Badalona, Santa Coloma del Gramanet, el Prat del Llobregat, Gavá, Hospitalet, Terrassa and ending in early 2008 at Villafranca del Penedés.

The exhibition covers three decades of engravings by Chillida (70-80-90) and is entitled Chillida: Codis (codes) in reference to a series of rules created by the sculptor himself in relation to geometry and aesthetics, establishing balance and harmony between form, black and white, material and space throughout his work.

Some of the engravings in the exhibition are specially related to Catalonia, such as “Barcelona I”,  “Homage to Joan Prats”, expressing the artist’s proximity to Catalonia.
