"This museum unveils itself as visitors take a journey through art and nature, a journey that begins with the feet and eyes and ends up in the soul. The key to understanding the artwork and world of Eduardo Chillida lies in a space which is not unlike the sculptor’s own personality: simple and humble in appearance but intense and big in its deepest interior. The great sculptures that rise up from the ground as if they were miracles of nature are actually a manifestation of the eternal dialogue between man and his environment. Visitors see the Zabalaga farmhouse and sculptures as if they had always been there. And only in their encounter with people do they reveal their true dimension, taking on the human scale that has always presided over Chillida’s concept of art." Mitxel Ezquiaga
